What is Faux Etched Glass
using Vinyl - Faux Etched Glass is an artificial approach
to the traditional artistic process. It gives the illusion of the real
thing by means of an alternative method. It is still a traditional
resurfacing of the glass, but with a twist. Rather than taking the
surface away, a new layer is applied. It creates the illusion of the
traditional etching achieved by applying a vinyl film to the glass
surface, see illustration above. This is simply a more contemporary and cost effective version
of a traditional decorative technique. |
|
What is Real Etched Glass - Etching
is a technique that permanently applies our artistic designs to glass
by removing the top layer of the glass
using different abrasives and air pressure to achieve this permanent
look. It will not chip, peel or wear over time. The
fine abrasive grit is evenly sprayed over the surface, abrading the
glass and causing a retexturing which allows the design to contrast
with the glossy smooth glass surface. |
